This is a list of some of my favorite blogs.
Dave Lankes is absolutely, without a doubt, my favorite rock star librarian out there for a number of reasons. This blog is about him both professionally and personally (plus note: after a year of chemo, he seems to be cancer-free), and he really is very cool. Expect to see his name on my blog occasionally.
Buffy Hamilton is a pretty well-known persona at this point. She doesn’t post as often as she once did, but she’s still getting things done and being an awesome librarian. She’s worked in both schools and public libraries.
This is simple, straightforward, and to-the-point librarian blogging at its best by the inimitable Jessamyn West, who did a talk at my university when I was getting my MSLS on a topic I couldn’t have cared less about at the time. Now I’m a little obsessed with it.
This one is m ostly news, but important news at that, and a good, quick way to catch up on things you need to know. You can often get away with just scanning the headlines.
This is another one from a professional journal, but I have to include it because I really do grab a lot of information, ideas, technology, etc. from their stuff.
This blog is run by a group of librarians, all doing different things. They discuss many different aspects of librarianship from a real-life perspective.
The only librarian comic strip. And some other tidbits as well.
This blog is just one-liners with librarian humor.
I’m including this one because I am really hoping this blog makes a comeback. It’s been dead for about two years, then aha! A magic post appeared just in time for ALA 2013, but there has been nothing since. I need the humor of this blog back in my life.
